A Proud Moment for CODE Eye Care

We are thrilled to share that our Medical Director, Dr Geetha Iyer, received the πŒπžπ’π›π¨π¦-𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐚π₯π₯𝐒𝐞𝐧 π“π«πšπ πžπ«π’π§ πŸπŸŽπŸπŸ’ at Heinrich Heine University DΓΌsseldorf! This prestigious honor, awarded to Dr Iyer as the first Indian recipient, highlights her groundbreaking work and dedication to advancing eye care.
Dr Iyer delivered a remarkable lecture on β€œπ‚πšππšπ₯𝐲𝐳𝐒𝐧𝐠 π‚π‘πšπ§π πž: 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐒𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 π‚π¨π«π§πžπšπ₯ 𝐁π₯𝐒𝐧𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐰𝐒𝐭𝐑 𝐊𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐒𝐬 𝐒𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐒𝐚,” joining a distinguished list of past medal recipients who have pioneered advancements in corneal research.
The Meibom-Mooren Medal is named in honor of two German ophthalmologists who made exceptional contributions to the field of cornea in the 1600s and 1800s. Dr Heinrich Meibom is renowned for his work describing the oil-producing Meibomian glands of the eyelids, whose dysfunction (Meibomian gland dysfunction) is something ophthalmologists encounter and treat daily. Dr Albert Mooren, identified the rare yet critical Mooren’s ulcer, that has saved countless eyes through timely diagnosis and intervention. These pioneers of cornea set a foundation that continues to guide modern eye care.

The cold of DΓΌsseldorf was more than offset by the warmth of its people, the incredible hospitality, and the beauty of the city. This experience has been a deeply inspiring milestone for Dr Iyer and all of us at CodeEyeCare as we continue our mission to bring innovative and compassionate care to our community.

Please join us in celebrating this proud achievement for CODE Eye Care!
