The Meibom-Mooren Medal is named in honor of two German ophthalmologists who made exceptional contributions to the field of cornea in the 1600s and 1800s. Dr Heinrich Meibom is renowned for his work describing the oil-producing Meibomian glands of the eyelids, whose dysfunction (Meibomian gland dysfunction) is something ophthalmologists encounter and treat daily. Dr Albert Mooren, identified the rare yet critical Mooren’s ulcer, that has saved countless eyes through timely diagnosis and intervention. These pioneers of cornea set a foundation that continues to guide modern eye care.

The cold of DΓΌsseldorf was more than offset by the warmth of its people, the incredible hospitality, and the beauty of the city. This experience has been a deeply inspiring milestone for Dr Iyer and all of us at CodeEyeCare as we continue our mission to bring innovative and compassionate care to our community.
Please join us in celebrating this proud achievement for CODE Eye Care!
