Lamellar Surgery :DSEK, DALK, DMEK: Advancing Corneal Surgery for Clear Vision

In the realm of corneal surgery, innovative techniques like Descemet’s Stripping Endothelial Keratoplasty (DSEK), Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty (DALK), and Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK) are revolutionizing treatment options for various corneal conditions. At our center, we specialize in these advanced procedures, offering personalized care and cutting-edge techniques to restore clarity to our patients’ vision.

DSEK (Descemet's Stripping Endothelial Keratoplasty)

DSEK is a minimally invasive procedure designed to treat corneal endothelial dysfunction, such as Fuchs’ endothelial dystrophy or corneal edema. During DSEK, the surgeon selectively replaces the dysfunctional endothelial layer of the cornea with a thin layer of donor tissue, preserving the healthy corneal architecture and promoting faster visual recovery.

DALK (Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty)

DALK is a partial-thickness corneal transplant technique used to treat conditions affecting the corneal stroma while preserving the healthy endothelial layer. By selectively removing and replacing the diseased or scarred tissue with donor tissue, DALK offers improved structural integrity and reduced risk of graft rejection compared to full-thickness transplants.
