We are thrilled to share that our Medical Director, Dr Geetha Iyer, received the ๐๐๐ข๐๐จ๐ฆ-๐๐จ๐จ๐ซ๐๐ง ๐๐๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ง ๐๐ซ๐๐ ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ง ๐๐๐๐ at Heinrich Heine University Dรผsseldorf! This prestigious honor, awarded to Dr Iyer as the first Indian recipient, highlights her groundbreaking work and dedication to advancing eye care.

The Meibom-Mooren Medal is named in honor of two German ophthalmologists who made exceptional contributions to the field of cornea in the 1600s and 1800s. Dr Heinrich Meibom is renowned for his work describing the oil-producing Meibomian glands of the eyelids, whose dysfunction ( Meibomian gland dysfunction) is something ophthalmologists encounter and treat daily. Dr Albert Mooren, identified the rare yet critical Mooren’s ulcer, that has saved countless eyes through timely diagnosis and intervention. These pioneers of cornea set a foundation that continues to guide modern eye care.
